Description

These Banana Bread Cinnamon Rolls combine the best of two classic treats—soft, sweet banana bread and gooey cinnamon rolls. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a decadent snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 medium ripe bananas
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup softened butter


Instructions

  1. Mash the bananas in a bowl and mix with warm milk, melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Gradually add flour and salt to form a soft dough. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about 12×18 inches.
  5. Spread softened butter evenly over the dough. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the butter.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from the long side, then cut into 12 even rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Optional: drizzle with glaze made from powdered sugar and milk before serving.

  • Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and flavor.
  • These rolls can be stored in an airtight container for 2–3 days.
  • For a richer flavor, add a tablespoon of cream cheese frosting on top.
