Description
Bang Bang Chicken is a crispy, golden-fried chicken tossed in a creamy, spicy-sweet Bang Bang sauce. It’s bold, flavorful, and perfect as an appetizer or main dish for family meals or parties.
Ingredients
- Bang Bang Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup chili-garlic sauce
- 2 tsp sriracha
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp cayenne (or smoked paprika for milder)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chicken:
- 1 lb chicken breast, chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (or milk)
- 3/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tbsp cayenne pepper (or smoked paprika for milder)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Garnish: Fresh chopped parsley, spicy chili flakes
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, chili-garlic sauce, sriracha, honey, cayenne, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to make the Bang Bang sauce. Set aside.
- Place chicken pieces in a bowl and pour buttermilk over them. Let sit 5 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
- Dredge chicken in cornstarch mixture until fully coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or deep fryer over medium-high heat. Fry chicken pieces in batches until golden and crispy, about 4–5 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
- Toss the fried chicken with the prepared Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish with parsley and chili flakes. Serve immediately.

- Adjust cayenne pepper or sriracha for preferred spice level.
- Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
- Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat in the oven to retain crispiness.
