Description

Bang Bang Chicken is a crispy, golden-fried chicken tossed in a creamy, spicy-sweet Bang Bang sauce. It’s bold, flavorful, and perfect as an appetizer or main dish for family meals or parties.

Ingredients

  • Bang Bang Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup chili-garlic sauce
  • 2 tsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp cayenne (or smoked paprika for milder)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chicken:
  • 1 lb chicken breast, chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk (or milk)
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper (or smoked paprika for milder)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Garnish: Fresh chopped parsley, spicy chili flakes

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, chili-garlic sauce, sriracha, honey, cayenne, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to make the Bang Bang sauce. Set aside.
  2. Place chicken pieces in a bowl and pour buttermilk over them. Let sit 5 minutes.
  3. Mix cornstarch, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
  4. Dredge chicken in cornstarch mixture until fully coated.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or deep fryer over medium-high heat. Fry chicken pieces in batches until golden and crispy, about 4–5 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Toss the fried chicken with the prepared Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated.
  7. Garnish with parsley and chili flakes. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne pepper or sriracha for preferred spice level.
  • Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat in the oven to retain crispiness.
