Ingredients
- 1 lb Breakfast sausage
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 4 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 1 tsp Salt
- 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 4 oz Sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp Heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Cook breakfast sausage in a skillet until browned; drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add buttermilk and stir until just combined.
- Fold in cooked sausage and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Drop spoonfuls of biscuit batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Drizzle heavy cream over the top of the biscuits.
- Bake 15–20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve warm, ideally with extra butter or syrup if desired.
