Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 1 ounce taco seasoning mix
- 2 ยฝ cups biscuit mix (like Bisquick)
- 1 cup water
- Cooking spray (like Pam)
- ยฝ cup sour cream
- ยฝ cup mayonnaise
- 4 ounces diced green chiles, drained
- 1 ยฝ cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ยฝ cup mild salsa
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and bell pepper until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and garlic powder. Remove from heat.
- In a bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, green chiles, salsa, and 1 cup shredded cheese.
- In a separate bowl, combine biscuit mix and water to form a soft dough.
- Press biscuit dough into the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Spread beef mixture evenly over dough.
- Spread creamy mixture on top, then sprinkle remaining cheese.
- Bake for 30โ35 minutes until golden and set.
- Let cool 5โ10 minutes before slicing and serving.
