Description

This Cheesy Hamburger Rice Casserole is a comforting, one-dish meal featuring tender ground beef, fluffy rice, savory mushroom soup, and melted cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 cup long-grain rice, uncooked
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until onions are soft.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine uncooked rice, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir in cooked beef mixture.
  5. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and cover with foil.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes, then remove foil and sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top. Bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium beef broth to control saltiness.
  • Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
  • Add vegetables like peas or carrots for extra nutrition.
