These Chicken Alfredo Calzones are a cheesy, creamy twist on classic pizza calzones. Filled with tender chicken, rich Alfredo sauce, and melted mozzarella, they make a perfect dinner or hearty snack.
Ingredients
- Alfredo Sauce:
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- For the Calzones:
- 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded (about 2 small chicken breasts)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in heavy cream and Italian seasoning. Simmer gently for 3–4 minutes.
- Add Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir until sauce is smooth and creamy. Remove from heat.
- Roll out pizza dough into a rectangle or circle. Spread a layer of Alfredo sauce, then top with shredded chicken and mozzarella.
- Fold dough over the filling to form calzones and seal edges. Transfer to prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Brush tops with softened butter and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve warm.
