Description

These Chicken Alfredo Calzones are a cheesy, creamy twist on classic pizza calzones. Filled with tender chicken, rich Alfredo sauce, and melted mozzarella, they make a perfect dinner or hearty snack.

Ingredients

  • Alfredo Sauce:
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Calzones:
  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded (about 2 small chicken breasts)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in heavy cream and Italian seasoning. Simmer gently for 3–4 minutes.
  4. Add Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir until sauce is smooth and creamy. Remove from heat.
  5. Roll out pizza dough into a rectangle or circle. Spread a layer of Alfredo sauce, then top with shredded chicken and mozzarella.
  6. Fold dough over the filling to form calzones and seal edges. Transfer to prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Brush tops with softened butter and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven for a crispy crust.
  • Serve with extra Alfredo sauce or marinara for dipping.
