Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 ½ cups orzo pasta
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the chicken sausage over medium heat until lightly browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add orzo pasta and stir for 1 minute to toast lightly.
  4. Pour in chicken broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 8–10 minutes.
  5. Add broccoli florets and cooked sausage. Continue cooking until the orzo is tender and broccoli is bright green.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.
