Description

Chili Cheese Tater Tot Casserole is a hearty, comforting dish loved by the whole family. Layers of crispy tater tots, flavorful chili, creamy sour cream, and melted cheddar cheese make it a crowd-pleaser for any night.


Ingredients

  • 1 bag of frozen tater tots
  • 2 cans of chili (with or without beans)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup chopped green onions


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Spread chili evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Top with half of the shredded cheddar cheese and half of the sour cream (dollops).
  4. Arrange tater tots in a single layer over the top.
  5. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until tater tots are golden and crispy.
  6. Remove from oven, sprinkle remaining cheese and green onions on top, and bake 5 more minutes until cheese melts.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use homemade or store-bought chili.
  • For extra flavor, add cooked ground beef or sausage to the chili layer.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 2 days.
