Description

These Cinnamon Apple Blondies are soft, chewy, and bursting with warm fall spices. With tender apple pieces and a rich buttery base, they make the perfect cozy dessert for autumn afternoons or holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 apple, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for apples)
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (141 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for batter)
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (112 g), melted
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar (156 g), packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Peel and finely chop the apple. Toss it with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, remaining cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Whisk in egg and vanilla.
  5. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
  6. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely before slicing into squares. Enjoy!
