This Cinnamon Sugar Donut Bread is soft, fluffy, and packed with the irresistible flavors of a classic cinnamon sugar donut—all baked into a sweet, tender loaf. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy snack with coffee or tea.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon for the topping.
- While the bread is still warm, sprinkle or gently press the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For extra richness, brush the top of the warm bread with melted butter before adding the cinnamon sugar topping.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- This bread also freezes well for up to 2 months.
