Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked and mashed sweet potatoes (≈4 large)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk or whole milk
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • For the topping:
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup light brown sugar, 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed, 1 cup chopped pecans


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed sweet potatoes, melted butter, milk, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  3. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Prepare topping by combining flour, brown sugar, and cubed butter until crumbly. Stir in chopped pecans.
  5. Sprinkle topping evenly over sweet potato mixture.
  6. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes until topping is golden and casserole is heated through.
  7. Serve warm.
