Ingredients
- 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 1 pound Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)
Instructions
- Cook fettuccine pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Remove sausage from casings and crumble into the skillet. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Stir in heavy cream, chicken broth, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add the cooked sausage and toss to combine.
- Mix in the cooked fettuccine and coat with the sauce evenly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- Use mild or spicy sausage according to your taste.
- For a lighter version, substitute half of the heavy cream with milk.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 2–3 days.
