Description

Crème Brûlée French Toast transforms your breakfast into a decadent treat. With rich custard-soaked brioche slices, subtle cinnamon, and a hint of vanilla, this French toast is creamy, sweet, and indulgent—perfect for special mornings or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of brioche or challah bread (12-14 slices)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (or vanilla bean paste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (or nutmeg)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  2. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the custard mixture, letting it soak for 20–30 seconds per side.
  4. Place soaked bread on the hot skillet and cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  5. Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with maple syrup.

Notes

  • Use day-old brioche for best texture.
  • For extra indulgence, top with caramelized sugar like classic crème brûlée.
  • Pair with fresh berries or a dollop of whipped cream.
