Description

This Crock Pot Angel Chicken is a creamy, comforting dish made with tender slow-cooked chicken breasts in a rich Italian cream sauce, served over delicate angel hair pasta. It’s the perfect cozy family dinner with minimal prep.

Ingredients

  • 12 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 large chicken breasts)
  • 4 ounces (½ block) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 10.5 ounce can cream of chicken soup (low or no sodium recommended)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¾ cup chicken broth (low or no sodium recommended)
  • 1 (0.7 ounce) packet Good Seasons Dry Italian Salad Dressing Mix (or your favorite mix)
  • 16 ounce box angel hair pasta
  • Chopped fresh parsley, cracked pepper and/or grated Parmesan cheese (optional for serving)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned (this step is optional but adds flavor).
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, butter, cream of chicken soup, garlic, chicken broth, and Italian dressing mix until smooth.
  4. Place chicken in the crock pot and pour the sauce mixture over the top.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 4–6 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  6. Cook angel hair pasta according to package instructions shortly before serving.
  7. Shred or slice the chicken and serve over cooked angel hair pasta. Spoon extra sauce on top and garnish with parsley, pepper, and Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use reduced-fat cream cheese and butter.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste if using low-sodium broth and soup.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
