Description
Crunchy, gooey, and perfectly golden—these Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks are quick to make and perfect for snacking or appetizer time. Served with marinara sauce and a sprinkle of fresh basil.
Ingredients
- 12 oz block mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce, for serving
- 2 tsp fresh basil, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
- Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, then dip in eggs, and finally coat with seasoned panko. Repeat for all sticks.
- Place coated mozzarella sticks in the freezer for 15–20 minutes to help prevent cheese from melting too fast.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange mozzarella sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 6–8 minutes or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.
- Serve immediately with marinara sauce and sprinkle with fresh basil, if desired.
Notes
- Freezing the sticks before air frying prevents cheese from oozing out.
- Use your favorite marinara or homemade sauce for best flavor.
- Serve immediately for the best crunchy texture.
