Crunchy, gooey, and perfectly golden—these Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks are quick to make and perfect for snacking or appetizer time. Served with marinara sauce and a sprinkle of fresh basil.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz block mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce, for serving
  • 2 tsp fresh basil, chopped (optional)


Instructions

  1. Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
  2. Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, then dip in eggs, and finally coat with seasoned panko. Repeat for all sticks.
  3. Place coated mozzarella sticks in the freezer for 15–20 minutes to help prevent cheese from melting too fast.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Arrange mozzarella sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 6–8 minutes or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  6. Serve immediately with marinara sauce and sprinkle with fresh basil, if desired.
