Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes (canned)
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Transfer the meat mixture to the slow cooker. Stir in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, and Italian seasoning.
- Add broken lasagna noodles to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on Low for 6–7 hours or High for 3–4 hours, until noodles are tender.
- Stir in ricotta cheese and shredded mozzarella just before serving, mixing until creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve warm.
