Description
These Eyeball Deviled Eggs are the perfect spooky appetizer for Halloween! With a creepy look and delicious pesto filling, they’re guaranteed to impress guests at your next Halloween party — fun, festive, and easy to make.
Ingredients
- 6 hard-boiled eggs, peeled
- 2 tablespoons green pesto
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, a pinch
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 12 candy eyes (large)
- Red gel food color
Instructions
- Slice the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise and carefully remove the yolks.
- In a small bowl, mash the yolks with pesto, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Spoon or pipe the pesto filling back into the egg whites.
- Use the red gel food color to draw squiggly “veins” on the white part of each egg to make them look bloodshot.
- Place a large candy eye on top of the green filling to create the eyeball effect.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve and enjoy your spooky Halloween treat!
Notes
- If you can’t find candy eyes, use an olive slice instead for a realistic look.
- Use beet juice or ketchup as a natural alternative to red gel food color.
- Perfect for Halloween buffets, kids’ parties, or themed dinners!
