Description

This French Onion Beef Casserole is a cozy, crowd-pleasing dinner made with tender egg noodles, seasoned ground beef, creamy mushroom soup, and rich French onion dip, all topped with crispy fried onions. It’s comforting, simple, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces dried egg noodles
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cans (10.75 oz each) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (15 oz) jar Lay’s French Onion Dip
  • ½ cup French’s fried onions
  • Freshly chopped parsley, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Season with salt and pepper and drain excess fat.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cooked noodles, ground beef, cream of mushroom soup, and French onion dip. Mix well.
  5. Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Top with fried onions and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Add shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese for extra richness.
  • Ground turkey can be used instead of beef.
  • For extra crunch, add more fried onions during the last 5 minutes of baking.
