Description
These Halloween Hand Pies are flaky, golden pastries filled with sweet red berry jam. Perfectly bite-sized and dusted with powdered sugar, they make a festive treat for Halloween parties!
Ingredients
- 2 boxes refrigerated pie crusts (4 crusts total)
- ⅓ cup red berry jam (any type like mixed berry, raspberry, cherry, blackberry, blueberry)
- 1 large egg beaten with a splash of water
- 1 ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk as needed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll out pie crusts and cut into rectangles or desired hand-pie shapes.
- Place a spoonful of jam in the center of each piece of dough.
- Brush edges with beaten egg, fold over to enclose filling, and seal edges with a fork.
- Brush tops with egg wash and bake for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving. Add milk to powdered sugar if making a glaze.
Notes
- Any jam flavor can be used for variety.
- Hand pies can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
- Adjust powdered sugar glaze consistency with milk for desired thickness.
