Description

These Halloween Meatball Eyes are a spooky, fun, and delicious appetizer! Juicy meatballs are glazed with a tangy-sweet sauce, topped with mozzarella, olives, and candy eyes for a creepy effect — perfect for your Halloween party table.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground chuck
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely minced
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp beef bouillon (or salt)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 12 oz bottle chili sauce
  • 14 oz can jellied cranberry sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Mozzarella, sliced
  • Black olives, sliced
  • Candy googly eyes
  • Red food coloring


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground chuck, onion, milk, eggs, beef bouillon, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and breadcrumbs. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form mixture into meatballs and place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes until cooked through.
  5. In a saucepan, mix chili sauce, cranberry sauce, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  6. Toss baked meatballs in the sauce until fully coated.
  7. Top each meatball with a slice of mozzarella, a slice of black olive, and a candy googly eye to create a spooky eyeball effect.
  8. Serve warm as a fun Halloween appetizer!

Notes

  • Adjust the spiciness of the sauce by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
