These Halloween Meatball Eyes are a spooky, fun, and delicious appetizer! Juicy meatballs are glazed with a tangy-sweet sauce, topped with mozzarella, olives, and candy eyes for a creepy effect — perfect for your Halloween party table.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground chuck
- 1/2 cup onion, finely minced
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp beef bouillon (or salt)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 12 oz bottle chili sauce
- 14 oz can jellied cranberry sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Mozzarella, sliced
- Black olives, sliced
- Candy googly eyes
- Red food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground chuck, onion, milk, eggs, beef bouillon, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and breadcrumbs. Mix until just combined.
- Form mixture into meatballs and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until cooked through.
- In a saucepan, mix chili sauce, cranberry sauce, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Toss baked meatballs in the sauce until fully coated.
- Top each meatball with a slice of mozzarella, a slice of black olive, and a candy googly eye to create a spooky eyeball effect.
- Serve warm as a fun Halloween appetizer!
Notes
- Adjust the spiciness of the sauce by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
- You can prepare the sauce in advance and toss the meatballs just before serving.
