Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4โ€“5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Grease a baking dish lightly with oil.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic. Cook for 2โ€“3 minutes until softened.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Stir well.
  5. Layer sliced potatoes evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Spread the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
  7. Pour beef broth and milk (if using) evenly over the top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 40โ€“45 minutes, until potatoes are tender.
  9. Remove foil, sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 10 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
