Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4-5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups [fill in ingredient]
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon [fill in spice]
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sautรฉ until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and your choice of spices.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Top with half of the cooked beef mixture and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese.
  5. Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, and cheese. Sprinkle paprika over the top. Pour beef broth (and milk if using) evenly over the casserole.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes, until potatoes are tender. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes for a golden top.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
