Description

Italian Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes combine the classic sloppy joe with Italian flavors, served on garlic butter toasted sandwich rolls topped with fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 sandwich rolls
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Mix softened butter with garlic powder and chopped parsley.
  8. Spread garlic butter mixture on sandwich rolls and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  9. Toast rolls in the oven until golden and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  10. Fill toasted rolls with sloppy joe mixture and serve immediately.
