Description

Mac and Cheese Meatloaf Casserole – the ultimate comfort food mashup, combining cheesy macaroni with savory meatloaf in one hearty dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups uncooked macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk (for meatloaf)
  • 2 tbsp butter (for cheese sauce)
  • 2 cups milk (for cheese sauce)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp dry mustard
  • 2 tbsp flour


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook macaroni according to package directions and drain.
  3. In a bowl, mix ground beef, diced onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and paprika. Shape into a loaf.
  4. Place meatloaf in a greased baking dish and bake for 40–45 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, make cheese sauce: melt butter, whisk in flour, gradually add milk, then stir in cheddar cheese until smooth.
  6. Once meatloaf is cooked, layer macaroni in casserole dish, pour cheese sauce on top, and bake 10 more minutes until bubbly.
