Description

This One-Skillet Creamy Honey BBQ Steak Rice is a quick and delicious weeknight dinner. Tender steak strips are cooked with a creamy honey BBQ sauce and mixed with rice, creating a comforting and flavorful one-pan meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, sliced thinly
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for searing)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1¾ cups beef broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss the steak slices in the marinade for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak slices until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add uncooked rice and stir to coat with butter and aromatics.
  5. Pour in beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 15 minutes until rice is tender.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, cheddar cheese, honey, barbecue sauce, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and chili powder (if using). Mix until creamy.
  7. Return steak to the skillet, stir gently, and heat through for 2–3 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
