Ingredients
- Casserole:
- 1 lb sourdough or French bread, cut into chunks
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
- ยฝ cup heavy whipping cream
- ยฝ cup granulated sugar
- ยผ cup light brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1ยฝ tsp ground cinnamon
- 6โ7 medium bananas, chopped
- Streusel Topping:
- ยพ cup all-purpose flour
- ยพ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ยฝ cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
Instructions
- Grease a 9ร13-inch baking dish and spread bread chunks evenly inside.
- Scatter chopped bananas evenly over the bread.
- In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugars, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Pour custard mixture evenly over bread and bananas. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- In a bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle streusel evenly over the casserole.
- Bake uncovered for 45โ55 minutes until golden and set.
- Let cool 5โ10 minutes before serving.

- Use very ripe bananas for best flavor.
