Description
Pizza Grilled Cheese is a fun and cheesy twist on a classic grilled cheese! With melty mozzarella, marinara sauce, and pepperoni, it’s a perfect snack, lunch, or quick dinner that combines pizza flavors in every bite.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of bread (sourdough, white, or whole wheat)
- 2 tbsp butter (softened)
- ½ cup marinara or pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 12 slices of turkey pepperoni (or your preferred topping)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Spread marinara or pizza sauce on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread.
- Layer mozzarella cheese, Parmesan, and pepperoni over the sauce.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and optional fresh basil on top.
- Place the remaining bread slices on top, buttered side up.
- Cook in the skillet for 3–4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use any leftover pizza toppings for a fun variation.
- For extra crispiness, press the sandwich with a spatula while cooking.
- Serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
