Description

Pizza Grilled Cheese is a fun and cheesy twist on a classic grilled cheese! With melty mozzarella, marinara sauce, and pepperoni, it’s a perfect snack, lunch, or quick dinner that combines pizza flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread (sourdough, white, or whole wheat)
  • 2 tbsp butter (softened)
  • ½ cup marinara or pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 12 slices of turkey pepperoni (or your preferred topping)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Spread marinara or pizza sauce on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread.
  4. Layer mozzarella cheese, Parmesan, and pepperoni over the sauce.
  5. Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and optional fresh basil on top.
  6. Place the remaining bread slices on top, buttered side up.
  7. Cook in the skillet for 3–4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  8. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use any leftover pizza toppings for a fun variation.
  • For extra crispiness, press the sandwich with a spatula while cooking.
