Description

This Shrimp & Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Pot Pie is a rich, comforting seafood dinner inspired by the famous biscuits everyone loves. Tender shrimp and sweet lobster are simmered in a creamy Old Bay–seasoned sauce, then topped with fluffy, cheesy garlic biscuits and baked until golden and bubbly.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups seafood stock (or chicken stock)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ lb cooked lobster meat, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • For the Biscuit Topping:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cold butter, grated
  • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ⅓ cup whole milk (plus 1 tablespoon if needed)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In an oven-safe skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic, onion, and celery; sauté until soft.
  3. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in stock until smooth.
  4. Add cream, Old Bay, salt, and pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Add shrimp and lobster; cook 2–3 minutes until shrimp are just opaque. Remove from heat and stir in parsley.
  6. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt. Cut in butter, then stir in cheese and milk.
  7. Drop biscuit dough by spoonfuls over the filling.
  8. Bake for 18–22 minutes until biscuits are golden and filling is bubbly. Rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use cooked lobster tails or claw meat for best flavor.
  • Do not overcook shrimp—they will finish cooking in the oven.
  • Serve with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables.
