Description

These Sweet Air Fryer Churro Bites are a lighter twist on the classic fried churro. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated with a cinnamon-sugar blend, they’re perfect for quick snacking or festive desserts without deep frying.

Ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup and 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 large egg
  • For the coating:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, sugar, and vanilla. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat and stir in flour until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides.
  3. Let the dough cool slightly. Then add the egg and beat until smooth.
  4. Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  5. Pipe small bites onto parchment-lined tray and freeze for 10 minutes.
  6. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  7. Immediately toss warm churro bites in cinnamon-sugar coating. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Churro bites are best served warm, but can be reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes.
  • Freeze raw piped dough to air fry later for quick desserts.
  • Dip in chocolate sauce or dulce de leche for extra indulgence.
