Description
These Sweet Air Fryer Churro Bites are a lighter twist on the classic fried churro. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated with a cinnamon-sugar blend, they’re perfect for quick snacking or festive desserts without deep frying.
Ingredients
- For the dough:
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup and 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 large egg
- For the coating:
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, sugar, and vanilla. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat and stir in flour until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides.
- Let the dough cool slightly. Then add the egg and beat until smooth.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe small bites onto parchment-lined tray and freeze for 10 minutes.
- Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes or until golden and crisp.
- Immediately toss warm churro bites in cinnamon-sugar coating. Serve warm.
Notes
- Churro bites are best served warm, but can be reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes.
- Freeze raw piped dough to air fry later for quick desserts.
- Dip in chocolate sauce or dulce de leche for extra indulgence.
