Description

Sweet Alabama Pecanbread is a rich, nutty, and delightfully sweet treat perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. Loaded with pecans and a buttery texture, it’s an indulgent classic everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, and oil (or melted butter). Mix well.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in chopped pecans gently.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Substitute half of the vegetable oil with melted butter for a richer flavor.
  • Try adding a teaspoon of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
