Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ยผ tsp) instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ยพ cup warm milk (110ยฐF/45ยฐC)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 4 tablespoons butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- ยฝ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ยฝ cup shredded cheddar or Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg; mix and knead to form a soft dough.
- Let dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled.
- Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and cheeses.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread the garlic herb cheese filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log, then slice into rounds.
- Place the rolls cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
- Let rise for 30 minutes, then bake at 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) for 25โ30 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly before serving.
