Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 (8 oz) tubes refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1/4 cup (60g) melted butter
  • 1 cup (60g) Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • For the Creamy Parmesan Sauce:
  • 4 tablespoons (60g) butter
  • 1/4 cup (30g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups (480ml) chicken broth
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  2. In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream cheese, green onions, salt, and pepper until well blended.
  3. Separate crescent dough into rectangles and press seams together.
  4. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each rectangle.
  5. Fold dough around filling and pinch edges to seal completely.
  6. Dip each chicken pillow in melted butter, then coat with Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20โ€“25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  9. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  10. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk until smooth.
  11. Cook until thickened, stirring frequently.
  12. Stir in Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper.
  13. Serve the warm chicken pillows topped with creamy Parmesan sauce.
