Description

Crock Pot Angel Chicken is a rich and creamy comfort food dinner made with tender slow-cooked chicken in a flavorful Italian cream sauce. Served over delicate angel hair pasta, this easy crock pot recipe is perfect for busy weeknights, family dinners, and comforting homemade meals.

Ingredients

  • 12 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 packet (0.7 ounce) dry Italian salad dressing mix
  • 16 ounces angel hair pasta
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for serving (optional)
  • Cracked black pepper, for serving (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.
  3. Sear the chicken for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden. This step is optional but adds extra flavor.
  4. Transfer the chicken breasts to the slow cooker.
  5. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, softened butter, cream of chicken soup, minced garlic, chicken broth, and dry Italian dressing mix.
  6. Whisk or stir the mixture until well combined, then pour the sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  7. Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or on HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  8. Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred or slice it into bite-sized pieces.
  9. Stir the sauce well until smooth and creamy, then return the chicken to the slow cooker and toss to coat.
  10. Cook the angel hair pasta according to package directions. Drain well.
  11. Serve the creamy angel chicken over the cooked angel hair pasta.
  12. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, cracked black pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium cream of chicken soup and chicken broth if you are sensitive to salt.
  • Do not overcook the chicken breasts, as they can become dry.
  • Chicken thighs can be substituted for chicken breasts for a richer and more tender result.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick, stir in a splash of warm chicken broth before serving.
  • For best results, cook the angel hair pasta separately and add the chicken and sauce on top.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
